T-Systems launches data center quality drive

  • 300 storage area networks and 70,000 SAN ports under the microscope
  • Aim: continually improve the performance and availability of data centers
  • Network experts trained
T-Systems has put the performance and efficiency of its around 300 storage area networks (SANs) and 70,000 SAN ports under the microscope at 50 sites across the globe. Brocade (Nasdaq: BRCD) provided the professional services for this project, which was T-Systems' first step in a permanent drive to enhance quality. The aim is to continually improve the performance and availability of its data centers.
"We worked together with Brocade to develop a strategy that will enable us to analyze each individual storage environment in future," explained Olaf Heyden, Member of the Management Board of T-Systems and Head of ICT-Operations. "If what we find does not correspond to our expectations, we can respond immediately and thus safeguard the performance of our data centers over the long term."
Brocade has trained the ICT provider's network experts and familiarized them with the company's test standards, which means T-Systems can take the next steps independently.
