PC environment from one source

Airbus more and more focusing on standardized desktop infrastructure. After completing projects in Germany, France and Great Britain, T-Systems is now setting up PC workstations for the aviation giant in Spain according to the same standards.
Illescas, Getafe and Puerto Real are the three Spanish Airbus branches whose 2,300 employees will soon have a standardized desktop environment. The European aircraft company is continuing to implement that which T-Systems has done for Airbus branches in other countries. In the future, hardware and software as well as services will be more cost-effective than current inhomogeneous IT and service environments. To this end, T-Systems - in addition to the PCs and all peripheral devices - operates a multilingual telephone service hotline for users around the clock. A central data processing center in Toulouse is the technological heart of the operation.
Expanded framework contract
The new contract expands upon the existing three-year old cross-national framework contract with Airbus. The delivery and service processes agreed upon for Spain are thus based on successful, proven standards. These standards offer total cost transparency as well as an insight into T-Systems' service quality at any time. "This is an important step for us on the road towards and internationalized, standardized, flexible and cost-effective IT infrastructure," says Manuel Cereijo, Head of IS Airbus Spain.
